Abbas Kiarostami's Collected Poems | Book Talk

Mohammad Faysal · Published

Abbas Kiarostami was an Iranian filmmaker (Taste of Cherry, Through the Olive Trees, Close-Up) who also wrote short, haiku-like poems. In this book talk I read a few of them in Ruhul Mahfuj Joy's Bangla translation: a fisherman and a fish, a childhood barber who no longer recognises the poet, timber merchants holding a conference in a tree-covered garden, and a mistress and her maid on census day. The video is in Bangla.

Book: Abbas Kiarostami, Kobitasamagra (Collected Poems)
Translator: Ruhul Mahfuj Joy
Publisher: Boibhob
