Maxwell Maltz's Psycho-Cybernetics | 5 Points in Bangla | বই আলাপ

Psycho-Cybernetics is one of the best self-improvement books I have read. Maxwell Maltz, a plastic surgeon, starts with self-image: the way we define ourselves is the way our brain acts. Every human being, he says, is engineered for success. Give the brain's creative mechanism a positive goal and it works as a success mechanism; give it a negative one and it works as a failure mechanism.

Willpower alone rarely builds a new self-image, so Maltz gives an exercise: read and digest a few points at least three times a week for the next 21 days. In this video I talk through those five points. The video is in Bangla.

  • 01 Give it a real goal
  • 02 Don't start with the how
  • 03 Mistakes are feedback
  • 04 Learn by trial and error
  • 05 Trust the mechanism: let it work, rather than make it work

Book: Psycho-Cybernetics (1960)
